Every Day

Middle Head Hike (hike#24 in the highlands park)

This guided hike begins at the trailhead (Keltic Lodge parking lot) every morning at 10 a.m. This is a relaxing hike and a great way to start your day.  The beauty of this coastline is spectacular.

You will hike a 4 km interpretive hike along the rugged Middle Head Peninsula.  This is a relatively easy hike, however, there are little hills and uneven terrain.

I certainly recommend hiking boots or solid walking shoes and definitely WATER!

Duration: 1 - 1.5 hours

View of Middle Head & Ingonish Island

View of the Middle Head peninsula and the Ingonish coastline

Every Day

Park Interpreters

Look for park interpreters on popular trails and at viewpoints around the Cabot Trail to discover more about whales, moose, coastal life and many other aspects of the park. Quench your curiosity and seek answers to your questions at various locations, including: Green Cove and Lakie's Head.

A great look-off near Ingonish

Every Sunday & Friday

The Beach is Alive - Broad Cove Campground Beach

Meet at the benches in the parking lot near the beach at 7pm on Sunday and 8pm on Fridays.

Have you ever strolled along a beach just as the sun was setting?  It is quite beautiful and, actually, very relaxing!  The ocean is usually quite calm at this time of the evening and you'll probably notice things that you would not during the day!

Make sure you bring a chair or blanket so you relax under the stars and listen to the stories of your host.  It can get rather cool along the coast so I would recommend that you bring along a sweater too!

Duration: 1hour on Sundays & 2 hours Fridays

Broad Cove Beach

Every Monday

Nature Movie Night

Broad Cove Campground outdoor theatre

July: 9 p.m. | August: 8:30 p.m.

Warren Lake trailhead (hike#20 in park)

This would be an experience and I really wish that I could be in the area to take in this special hike.  It will get very dark here and you are going to hope for the moon to guide your way.

Listen and watch for big and little animals as you make your way around the lake.  Have fun and please please send me a story about it!

This is another one that sounds great.  I didn't know that Ingonish had ghosts!  Have you heard the haunting call of a loon at dusk?  Well, you should on this adventure.

I believe Freshwater Lake will be your destination and the walk around it should be quite interesting with the sound of the crashing waves of Ingonish beach in the distance.
