Issue #020, June 2019

hi folks,

Welcome to the June issue of Your Nova Scotia Travel tips.

Have you started to make plans for your Nova Scotia Holiday? I am here to help!

I have recently added a series of pages about Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy to my website. A perfect spot for some vacation time. Hiking, camping, kayaking, site seeing, fossil hunting and whale watching just to name a few....the Bay of Fundy has it all. And don't forget the seafood!!

Whale watching

The Bay of Fundy is one of the best spots on the east coast to see whales. The whales love the bay and come back year after year. I have read that the humpbacks have arrived in the bay for the season.

There are several tours out of Brier Island and Digby Neck. Check out my whalewatching page.

Hiking

There are literally dozens of places along the Bay of Fundy for hiking. Some are high above the bay and others are almost on the ocean floor. Check out Cape Chignecto, Cape Split, Wasson Bluff, Partridge Island, Balancing Rock, and Brier Island.

These are just a few places. A little tip: never let the weather stop you as it can change quickly on the Bay of Fundy. But be prepared as well. Also be aware of the tide schedule.

The Tides & the Tidal Bore

Did you know that the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia has the highest tides in the world? Tides can reach as high as 56 feet (16 m). The tides change twice daily when a billion tons of water moves in and out of the bay.

Learn more about the tides and tidal bore at Tidal Bore.

Site Seeing on the Bay of Fundy

In a word, the Bay of Fundy is GORGEOUS!

There are tons of places to take in the scenery of the bay. You won't be disappointed. I have pages on my website for several that I have enjoyed. I suggest visiting any one of these to enjoy the Bay of Fundy. Better yet, pick several and make a holiday out of it!!

Five Islands, Patridge Island, Cape d'Or, Burntcoat Head, Grand Pré, Brier Island.

Trip Advisor & Halifax

Trip Advisor says that Halifax is one of Canada's top destinations. Well, I didn't need Trip Advisor to tell me this!! LOL!

Seriously, Trip Advisor is a great tool when planning a trip. I use it all the time and try to write reviews when I can.

Use this Trip Advisor link to make your accommodations booking. I earn a small commission with each reservation made via my site and this helps me pay my expenses.

I would really appreciate it!! Cheers!!
